| The ceramics in this section are low- fire ceramics made from plaster molds. The clay slip is poured into the mold and a layer adheres to the plaster, accumulating as time passes. When a desired thickness is obtained the excess clay is poured from the mold. The clay is allowed to set, then is removed and com- pletely dried. The piece is finished, removing mold join lines and other surface imperfections. It is then glazed and fired at cone 04. A clear glaze is applied and a final firing at cone 06 completes the process. |
